2009 - INAUGURAL YEAR FOR TEEPEE CREEK STAMPEDE RODEO QUEEN


Jodi Ross - Miss Teepee Creek Stampede Queen 20092009 was an exciting year for the Teepee Creek Stampede as the first Miss Teepee Creek Stampede was crowned. 

Miss Teepee Creek Stampede2009, Jodi Ross, will be a representative of the Stampede, of the community, and overall, the western way of life.  Along with appearing at the Teepee Creek Stampede, Miss Teepee Creek Stampede will be making appearances at events in the surrounding Peace Country throughout her year-long reign.

Jodi Ross - 2009 Stampede QueenMiss Teepee Creek Stampede is a great opportunity for young women of the community.  If you are between the ages of 14 and 17, you are invited to enter the competition, which will be held leading up to and during this year’s Stampede, July 9-12.  The competition will consist of several components including but not limited to horsemanship, public speaking, modeling, and photogenics.   Entrants will be given opportunities to network and develop lifelong skills.

Miss Teepee Creek Stampede is the perfect stepping stone for aspiring rodeo royalty who hope to compete for Alberta High School Rodeo Queen, Miss Grande Prairie Stompede, and Miss Rodeo Canada. 

The board of the Teepee Creek Stampede Association has thrown there support behind the Queen Competition and will be awarding a $500 scholarship to the young woman crowned Miss Teepee Creek Stampede 2009.

MISS TEEPEE CREEK STAMPEDE QUEEN COMPETITION

Miss Teepee Creek Stampede Queen Competition

2010 will be the second year for the Miss Teepee Creek Stampede competition. 

Miss Teepee Creek Stampede is a representative of the Stampede, of the community, and overall, the western way of life.  Along with appearing at the Teepee Creek Stampede, Miss Teepee Creek Stampede will be making appearances at events in the surrounding Peace Country throughout her year-long reign.

Miss Teepee Creek Stampede is the perfect stepping stone for aspiring rodeo royalty who hope to compete for Alberta High School Rodeo Queen, Miss Grande Prairie Stompede, and Miss Rodeo Canada. 

Outline for the Competition

  • Must be 14-17 years of age
  • Contestants will be judged in the following areas:

-Horsemanship-will include a reining pattern, flag run, and presentation ride
-Public Speaking-including a prepared speech (topic will be assigned) and impromptus
-A Personal Interview
-A written test which will include rodeo and horse knowledge, as well as history of the Teepee Creek Stampede and the TP community
-Modeling
-Photogenics
-Overall appearance and personality during the competition; including at pancake breakfasts and promotional events during Stampede week
-Application and resume will be considered by the judges
-Team Event

  • Applications will be available in the spring of 2010
  • There will be 2-3 events that entrants will attend in June (not judged), as well as make an appearance at the kick off event the week before, possibly: Chataqua Days in Sexsmith, The Wanham Plowing Match, and The Canada Day Parade
  • The competition will officially begin in early July, 2010
  • Crowning will take place during the Saturday rodeo performance
  • Application fee will be $50.00 per entrant
  • Once all applications are in, there will be a brief workshop and information session for all contestants

Throughout her year long reign, Miss Teepee Creek Stampede will be an ambassador for the sport of rodeo, proudly representing the TP brand.  She will appear at events across the Peace Country, educating and sharing with others the western way of life.  Running for Miss Teepee Creek Stampede is a wonderful opportunity for young women to network, grow as a person, and develop professional skills. 

The Teepee Creek Stampede Association is looking for a young woman that demonstrates leadership, excellent communication skills, strives for excellence and has a passion for the sport of rodeo and western way of life.  The Teepee Creek Stampede has a proud history, and Miss Teepee Creek will represent all that the Stampede stands for, carrying on the western tradition.
