The Teepee Creek Stampede - 95 Years of Western Tradition
Howdy and Welcome to the Teepee Creek Stampede’s website!!! We are excited to bring the Teepee Creek Stampede – www.tpstampede.ca into the 21st century and be able to share some of the Teepee Creek Stampede experience with the world. Although, you really have to see it and live it to get the full effect!
The Teepee Creek Stampede has been a proud tradition in the north since 1917 making us one of Canada’s oldest running rodeos. For more information on the history of the Teepee Creek Stampede – Click here.
The Teepee Creek Stampede Association (TCSA) will be celebrating our 94th year in 2010 as we feature a full schedule of Chuckwagon Racing and Pro Rodeo July 15, 16, 17, and 18, 2010. The Teepee Creek Stampede is a CPRA Pro Rodeo and we also feature races from the Western Chuckwagon Association GMC Pro Tour and the All Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariot Association Taste the Dust Pro Tour.
The Teepee Creek Stampede is known to cowboys and rodeo fans alike as one of the most exciting and FUN stops on the rodeo circuit. This can be largely accredited to the extra events that we run in addition to the main competitive events you see at most rodeos. The Cowhide Race, Wild Cow Milking, and crowd favorite Wild Horse Race are always a great show by anyone’s standard and make coming to the rodeo worth while in themselves. We are proud to say that both locals and Pro cowboys are allowed to enter these events and compete. This gives our local cowboys a chance to compete alongside the best in the business and gives the Pro competitors a chance to have some fun and possibly take home a unique TP title and hardware (that is if they can beat our local talent!!).
Another crowd favorite and long time tradition at the Teepee Creek Stampede is the Teepee Creek Terror. The Terror rider is drawn from a hat and the lucky cowboy is given the chance (should he accept the challenge) to ride the rankest horse in the pen and make a few extra dollars for the trip home. The rider must stay on The Terror for a full ten seconds and the judges have been known to put a little twist into the rules on this one as well making things just a little more interesting.
We have a full Pro Rodeo card again this year with all main events running during the afternoon performances Saturday and Sunday. The WCA Thoroughbred & All Pro Pony wagon races square off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night at 7:00 PM sharp! Sunday night will feature 2 Dash for Cash Races keeping you on the edge of your seat!
Teepee Creek is also well known for it’s Friday and Saturday night rodeo dances and cowboy cabarets that take place under the Wagon Tarp. It has been described as “a little western” but it is always a good time. People come from miles around to dance the night away with good company. We have a great set of bands lined up for this years show and it promises to be a party you do not want to miss:
Friday Night: LAST MAN STANDING – be ready to dance til the sun comes up with this band that will prove they can live up to their name!!
Saturday Night: SHADY JUNCTION & HORSE THIEF – both of these bands are crowd favorites and must sees!!
Our Teepee Creek Stampede Rodeo Dances and Cowboy Cabarets are famous for the high energy non-stop good time – we work hard to keep continuous music flowing throughout the night. Our bands play back to back continuous sets with no dead time so you don’t have time to slow down!!
The Teepee Creek Stampede is a must attend event for the summer schedule – make sure you don’t miss out as it only comes around once a year!!!!. It’s fun for the whole family with free camping, and lots of activities for all ages.
Thank you for visiting our website and we’ll see you July 14 - 17, 2011 for the 95th Annual Teepee Creek Stampede!!!
